General Information: The following are some of the national gangs, some of which have local affiliates on the peninsula. This is not an exhaustive list of gangs throughout the United States, however these are the most common known gangs.

Generally when you hear the term gang a number of things run through your mind. You may think about West Coast gangs such as the Bloods and Crips, or you may even think about Chicago’s Gangster Disciples. Whatever your thoughts, there are some general misconceptions and truths about youth and gangs. This page will seek to clarify some common misunderstandings relating to youth and the gang culture and attempt to educate community members and parents on the signs and symbols related to gangs both nationally and locally.
