Welcome to the website for the Partnership on Youth Violence Prevention.  We are glad you have taken the opportunity to browse our website for resources to assist our young people who may be in need of services or just looking for activities to occupy their time. 

The partnership is made up of the chiefs, sheriffs, and school superintendents of the Peninsula jurisdictions.  These localities include Gloucester, Hampton, James City County, Newport News, Poquoson, Williamsburg, and York County.  Our goal is to prevent youth violence and gang participation by linking citizens to various community resources whose main goal is the positive development of youth.

In addition to providing a link to resources, we are making violence prevention activities in our schools a priority.  One strategy we hope to accomplish is to implement a comprehensive violence prevention program in all elementary schools with reinforcement in the middle schools.  Lastly, we want to make sure our School Resource Officers are continuing their efforts in the line of prevention with teaching the Class Action program and building relationships with our young people.
